There are three RPD/RMD related alarms that can be enabled/disabled. Each of these alarms has a separate configurable threshold value to control setting of the alarm. These RxD configuration alarm settings apply to all ACCP core instances. Enable all three alarms by enabling RxD Stats polling. If Stat polling is disabled then these alarms cannot be set and are immediately cleared.
- Dropped Egress Packets alarm – This alarm is a comparison of the RxD received packets against the RxD transmitted packets. The threshold value has a default of 1% with a range of 0 – 100% in increments of 0.01%. This threshold value allows you to control the setting of the alarm to allow for minor variances in RPD/RMD received and transmitted output rates.
- Dropped Ingress Packets alarm – This alarm is a comparison of the RxD received packets against the packets transmitted by the VUE. The count of packets transmitted by the VUE is based on the output TS rate. The threshold value has a default of 1% with a range of 0 – 100% in increments of 0.01%. A threshold value of 1% allows for up to a 1% difference in received RxD packets versus VUE transmitted packets. Since there are variances in stats polling time, delays in receiving stats polling, and variances in VUE output rate calculation, the threshold allows you to compensate for these variances to prevent inadvertent alarms.
- Out of Sequence Packets alarm – This alarm is based on the number of out of sequence (OOS) packets reported by the RxD. Since the RxD can correct a certain number of OOS packets, this threshold allows you to control when a OOS alarm is set or cleared. The threshold value has a default of 1% with a range of 0 – 100% in increments of 0.01%.
