You can create a new modem session to poll a MAC address or list of MAC addresses.
  1. In Modem Sessions, click Add. The Create New Modem Session dialog opens.
  2. Enter a MAC address or partial address in the Search field. ServAssure NXT searches the monitored modems and returns a list of matching addresses.
    NOTE:ServAssure NXT will show a warning if a modem added to this list is already in an active session. If more than 500 modems are in active sessions, a new session cannot be created.
  3. Click an address from the results to add it to the list of modems to be polled during this session.
    You can add a maximum of 10 MAC addresses to a session. You can delete an address from this list by clicking the X next to the address. Click Clear to clear the entire Modem List.
  4. Enter a name for the session in the Name field.
    Session name can contain up to 30 characters. This field is optional. If you do not define a name, ServAssure NXT assigns an auto-generated name.
    If you do define a session name, it is validated as it is entered. Valid names can contain alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9), dash (-), underscore (_), colon (:), forward slash (/), and period (.). Additionally, the following special characters are allowed:
    à á À Á è é È É í ì Í Ì ò ó Ò Ó ù ú Ù Ú ä Ä ë Ë ï Ï ö Ö ü Ü Å å æ Æ œ Œ Ø ø ß
    Spaces between words are allowed.
  5. Enter a value in the Interval field to define the polling interval in minutes.
    Possible values include integers between 1 and 30. The default interval is 1 minute.
  6. Enter a value in the Duration field to define the length of time in hours that the session will poll the modems.
    Possible values include integers between 1 and 200. The default duration is 1 hour.
