For cable modems with MTA enabled, the MTA tab provides details of the MTA device status.

NOTE: If the modem is not enabled for MTA, this tab does not appear.

MTA PROVISIONING

  • MTA Provisioning Status — Indicates the extent of provisioning the MTA device. Possible values include:
    • pass
    • inProgress
    • failConfigFileError
    • passWithWarnings
    • passWithIncompleteParsing
    • failureInternalError
    • failOtherReason
    • unknown
  • MTA Voice-enabled — true(1)/false(0)
  • HW SW rev — Provides details of the current device hardware and software revisions.
  • MTA Serial — Serial number of the MTA device.
  • Number of Lines — The number of voice lines supported by the MTA.
  • Device type — Indicates the device specification level in accordance with the Packet Cable MTA specification.
  • Config File — Location of the configuration file. The Config file defines the provisionable attributes of the MTA.
  • FQDN — Fully Qualified Domain Name of the MTA. Used to uniquely identify the device.
  • MTA MAC Address — MAC address of the MTA. It must be different from the cable modem MAC address.
  • IP — IP address of the MTA. It must be different from the cable modem IP address.

MTA PERFORMANCE

  • Number of Calls — The number of calls since the MTA was provisioned.
  • Lost Voice Packets — The number of voice packets lost during active calls. Available on Motorola MTA devices that support GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Received Voice Packets — The number of RTP voice packets received by the MTA. Available on Motorola MTA devices that support GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Voice Packet Loss % — The percentage of total voice packets lost during active calls. Available on Motorola MTA devices that support GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Voice Bitrate Sent — The data rate of the upstream voice channel in kilobits per second. Available on Motorola MTA devices that support GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Voice Bitrate Received — The data rate of the downstream voice channel in kilobits per second. Available on Motorola MTA devices that support GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Bandwidth Request Retries — The number of retries the cable modem performed because the initial request to service upstream data needs was not granted. Every retry has an impact of increasing latency.
  • Bandwidth Request Unfulfilled — The number of requests for bandwidth that failed due to excessive retries without acknowledgment. Bandwidth Request Unfulfilled has a greater latency impact than Bandwidth Request Retries.
  • Number of DSA Failures — The number of Dynamic Service Addition failures. If a DSA fails, the MTA cannot establish the QoS, that causes call failure.
  • MTA Resets — The number of times the MTA was reset.

MTA STATUS

  • MTA State — Indicates the state of the MTA device. Possible values for the MTA State include:
    • operational (green)
    • waitingForSnmpSetInfo (yellow)
    • waitingForTftpAddrResponse (yellow)
    • waitingForConfigFile (yellow)
    • unknown (gray/blank)
  • Call in Progress? — True/False
  • Line Status — Indicates if the voice line is operational(1), disconnected(0), or has noSecurityAssociation(2). There is one value for each voice line.
  • Battery Status — Indicates the status of the MTA backup battery. If this field is blank, it means that the MTA manufacturer does not support battery status reporting. Available on Arris and Motorola MTA devices that support ARRIS-MTA-DEVICE-MIB or GI-BTI-MIB.
  • Last Time Battery Used — The elapsed time (in seconds) since the last battery use, since the last reset. Available on Arris MTA devices that support ARRIS-MTA-DEVICE-MIB.
