Select one or more alarms in the Alarms table to get more information in the other views.

The Alarms table contains the following:

  • Expand Row — Click to open the sub-table for a row.

    The sub-table contains:

  • Severity — The severity level at the time that the latest data is received. Severity levels are based on a configured threshold definition, and can be:
    • Critical
    • Major
    • Minor
    • None — Indicates the absence of a problem and appears for an alarm that is in the Pending Cleared state.
  • Alarm ID — ID of an alarm that can be exported to a CSV file. This information is useful for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Type — Can be any of these:
    • Outage: Fiber Node Outage Alarm
    • Proactive: Fiber Node Proactive Alarm
    • Outage : NCN Outage Alarm
  • Size — The number of cable modems associated with the alarm.
  • Detected — The date and time at which the alarm was Detected. Click the link to move to the time at which the alarm was detected. This change is reflected in the breadcrumbs. See Obtain data from different points in time.
  • Ack — Acknowledged: Indicates that a user has acknowledged the alarm, which typically means that the alarm does not need to be reviewed again. A √ (acknowledged) or - (unacknowledged) appears in the column. A comment indicator icon appears in the Ack column when a comment has been added. See Acknowledge alarms.
  • Select Action — Use this menu to perform actions on the selected alarm.
    • Acknowledge — Users assigned to a group that contains the Alarm Acknowledgment permission can determine that the alarm has been examined and does not require immediate attention. See Acknowledge alarms.
    • Notes — View the history of an alarm in the Alarm Notes. See View alarm notes.
    • Comment — Users assigned to a group that contains the Alarm Notes or Alarm Acknowledgment permission can add comments regarding an alarm. Other users can view these comments in the Alarm Notes. See Add a comment to alarm notes.
