This section describes how to install, configure, and operate a multidatacenter deployment of ServAssure NXT, ServAssure Collection Platform, and ServAssure NXT Insight Views with failover/disaster recovery capabilities. The scenarios covered here are intended as a reference. In a deployment scenario where the assumptions used herein don't apply, procedures for configuration and failover may need to be modified.

ServAssure NXT uses Cassandra as its backing database, because Cassandra has built-in support for multidatacenter-aware deployments. ServAssure NXT can take full advantage of Cassandra's multidatacenter features when configured. Insight Views uses SingleStore aggregator and leaf nodes to replicate data asynchronously. Most of the information covered in this section is related to configuring Cassandra and SingleStore for multidatacenter support. Typically, a datacenter in Cassandra is mapped to a physical location of an on-site datacenter, or a region in a cloud environment, where regions are independent of each other and can be separated by physical locations.

The scenarios outlined here assume there are two datacenters where each site contains a full set of required nodes for both ServAssure NXT, ServAssure Collection Platform, and ServAssure NXT Insight Views. Site A will be referred to as the primary site, and Site B will be the secondary site.

The Multidatacenter normal operation diagram depicts multidatacenter deployment of ServAssure NXT in a normal operating state and Multidatacenter failover operation diagram in a failover state.
