Filtering changes what is visible within a view. It does not affect the selection or what appears in other views. Therefore, selected items can disappear from a view if they are filtered out.
For example, if you select a Proactive alarm in the Alarms table and then deselect Proactive above the Alarms table. The selected alarm disappears; however, it remains selected and appears in other views.
