After you assign an index template to an RxD device, VTM indicates if the RxD(s) need Re-Indexing. RxDs remain functional with the old index template until you re-index them.
When you apply an RF-channel index template, the VTM database stores the assignment and the RxD’s Re-Indexing status updates to show whether or not the device requires channels to be re-indexed to apply the new index range.
Once you start a re-index operation, the assigned RF channel index template goes into effect for the RxDs with existing channels from previously-assigned service groups. During this process, channels may be re-created within an RxD device depending on what its current RF channel index template range assignment is and what it is configured to.
  1. Navigate to the RxD inventory and click the ellipse icon.
  2. Select Re-Index.
  3. Select the RxD devices whose RF channel index templates you want to re-assign.
NOTE: You can use the search icon (magnifying glass) to filter the RxD inventory list.
  4. Click the Re-Index button to start the operation.
The status of the index template reassignment is displayed.
