To select a VUE server as an Initial Active or Initial Standby server, click on the Initial Active Server or Initial Standby Server field to view the list of available candidate servers. This list also consists of a list of VUE servers that are not candidates for an RC. Click Reasons to view the reasons as to why the desired VUE server cannot be part of the RC.

Rules/Criteria for Initial Active candidate servers
- Can be configured with stationary IP addresses. Must use VIPs with a role as other for all interfaces for data (input interface, PID interface, output interface, and so on.).
- Can have one or more VIP interfaces with the role of heartbeat that can be used for the heartbeat interface communication.
- Can contain existing Service Group configurations (transport streams, mappings, and so on.).
- Can contain a configured AUX Core with RxD devices assigned.

- Can be configured with stationary IP addresses. Must use VIPs with a role as other for all interfaces for data (input interface, PID interface, output interface, and so on.).
- Can have one or more VIP interfaces with the role of heartbeat that can be used for the heartbeat interface communication.
- Must not contain existing Service Group configurations (transport streams, mappings, and so on.).
- Must not contain a configured AUX Core with RxD devices assigned.
