AVCM uses the ACP logging service that includes the ELK cluster - Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana – to manage the log related data. Kibana provides a rich view into the logging data stored and indexed in Elasticsearch. It supports queries and filters on the data that help configure, analyze and visualize data points in a variety of ways – graphical and texual. These visualizations can be saved for reuse and aggregated into a dashboard. These widgets and dashboards created in Kibana (i.e., Kibana dashboards) can be imported into AVCM (i.e., AVCM dashboard) and customized based on the operator’s responsibilities.

System Administrators create/pre-configure the AVCM dashboard widgets with specific queries in a third-party system (i.e., Kibana) and make them available to AVCM. Operators can add the relevant widgets to their personalized/customized dashboard and run these widgets/queries to monitor/assess the system in real-time and generate their reports.

NOTE: Before you begin, ensure access to an Elasticsearch database with relevant data.

Perform the following high-level steps and procedures to create and share Kibana dashboards. For details on the Kibana UI and tasks, refer to the Kibana documentation/web page.

  1. Configure an index pattern
  2. Visualize data
