To install and configure ServAssure Collection Platform, you must edit two configuration files and store them in a location accessible to Ansible. These files contain host inventory information, as well as site-specific variables needed for the installation.
The following two files are required:
host_inventory (see ServAssure Collection Platform host_inventory for an example).
site_vars (see ServAssure Collection Platform site_vars for an example).
Prepare to edit the configuration files:
- Unzip the ServAssure Collection Platform Ansible Install package “conf” directory.
- Locate the two configuration files and copy each to a file location of your choice.
- Change these file names, if desired. Be sure to record the new names, since these names are required later in the installation.
- Create and save backup copies of these files. They contain all the site information for your ServAssure Collection Platform installation.
Notes:
- Please consult CommScope before editing these files. It is extremely important that these two files be generated with the proper configuration before initiating the installation using the Ansible install scripts.
- In installation scenarios where ServAssure Collection Platform is being integrated with ServAssure NXT, the installations for each support a combined inventory file and combined site variables file. In this case, only a single inventory file with both ServAssure NXT and ServAssure Collection Platform hosts and a single site variables file with variables for both are necessary.
- Inventory and site variable information for the Metrics and optional Logger platform can also be added to the same inventory and site variable files used for the ServAssure Collection Platform or ServAssure NXT installations.
