Undo add/configure devices

The rollback (undo) feature is only available if Backup Enable was selected during the Add/Configure Devices procedure. It is applicable only for existing devices that were modified, as new devices that were added cannot be rolled back to a previously saved parameter state.

The following CSV file illustrates two OM 1000s that were moved to Rack Y, Shelves A and B. These settings were then rolled back to their original location rack/shelf identifiers.

  1. Create a CSV file using either the parameter list or device list methods and then check the file with Notepad or another text editor. A typical file is as follows:

  2. Select Configuration > Tools > Add/Configure Devices from the SDM Menu Bar. The Add/Configure Devices screen is displayed:
  3. Click to locate the target CSV file and click Browse Upload.
  4. In the populated Add/Configure Devices screen displays, click Enable and copy on paper the rollback path displays in the Directory field.
  5. Click Execute. The status Add/Configure Devices screen displays.
  6. Navigate to the SDM Menu Bar select Configuration > Tools Rollback > Add/Configure Devices. The Rollback Add/Configure Devices screen displays.
  7. Type the <rollbackpath> in the Rollback directory field, and click Next. The Rollback Add/Configure Devices preview screen displays.
  8. Enable (checkmark) the targeted devices for roll back, and click Execute.

    The status Rollback Add/Configure Devices screen is displayed indicating the state of the rollback for each of the targeted devices.

    Parameter

    		Description

    Device Name

    The name or IP address of the device.

    Start Time/ End Time

    The time the rollback began and ended.

    Status

    Started: Rollback initiated.

    Done: Rollback completed successfully.

    Pending: Rollback in progress.

    Failed: Rollback did not complete due to errors. A brief description of the error is provided.

    Warning - Not Selected: Device was not selected for rollback

    Reboot Required

    If Yes, the device must be rebooted for the changes to take effect.
