In Historical view, you can create graphs of selected items, such as alarms or service locations, by double-clicking or dragging RF parameters from the Parameters tab to the graphing canvas. You can also have ServAssure NXT automatically create graphs for you based on the alarms and issues that are selected in other views. You can also display modulation indicators and historical channel plots.

Each RF Parameter creates one graph. To compare data, you can create several graphs on the canvas at the same time.

To create a graph
  1. Select one or more items in any other view. The graphs that you create show the MAC address/frequency pairs for all the items selected.

For example, select alarms or issues in Alarms view, cable modem MAC addresses in Cable Modem view, a fiber node in Map view, or service locations in Logical view.

  2. Click the Historical tab.
NOTE: If this is the first graph you are creating during your session, the graphing canvas is empty.
  3. To set the Time Period that you want to view:
    1. Click the chevron to display date and time choices on the Time panel.

      The Time Panel appears.

NOTE: You can view up to 2 weeks of data in a graph. The date and time fields turn red if you enter a date/time outside of the 2 week allowable range, or if you enter a date/time where data is not available.

By default, End is today's date and the current time, and Start is 2 weeks in the past, depending on available data.

    2. Enter Start and End dates: Click the date field and select month, day, and year from the calendar.
    3. Enter Start and End times: Click the time field and select a time from the drop-down. You can also adjust the time by typing directly in the box.
    4. Click Go.
  4. Click the Parameters tab to move an RF Parameter to the graphing canvas by doing one of the following:
    • Drag the parameter to the graphing canvas, and place it where you want to create the graph.

If you want to compare graphs, drag it above or below an existing graph.

    • Double-click the parameter.

The new graph is created below any existing graphs.

You can select from SC-QAM or OFDM/A graphs.

The graph appears on the canvas, using data from the items that you selected in other views and the parameter that you dragged to the canvas. This picture shows a graph of Upstream Tx Power for an alarm, during a period of about 24 hours.

To create additional graphs on the same canvas
    • Do one of these:
      • Drag additional RF Parameters above or below existing graphs.
      • Double-click RF Parameters. The new graphs appear below the existing graphs.
To remove a graph from a canvas
    • Click the X in the label of the parameter above the graph.
