Back-up SDM Data

To back up SDM data:

  1. Select File > Database Backup/Restore. The Options window is displayed with the Backup tab selected:
  2. Enter the <directory> to back up to in the Destination field.

    If you do not know the directory, click Browse. In the Select Backup window, select the <target directory> (for example, /home/sdm_backup, which is preferable) and click Select.

  3. Click .Apply
  4. To back up immediately, click Backup Now. The message Performing SDM Database backup now is displayed.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Refresh to update the information displayed in the Backup/Restore tab.

    When the backup is complete, the Completion Status and Completion Time fields are updated. The name of the backup file is displays in the Backup Identification field.

  7. Click Close to close the Options window.
    To schedule daily backups:
  8. Select Schedule Daily Backups and enter a time in the Schedule Daily Backups field. The format for the time is XX:XX AM or PM.
  9. Click Apply to save your changes, and close the Options window.
