NOTE: If the number of In Use licenses exceeds the total number of allocated licenses on the SDM, deauthorizing a device does not result in additional available licenses for the SDM to distribute.

If the SDM is monitoring an entitled device, the entitlements count as In Use licenses, even if this SDM did not authorize the device. Be very careful when de-authorizing an entitled device if the number of Available licenses is zero; doing so can result in the loss of access to the entitlement features.

  1. Open the Properties display for the device and select the Entitlements tab.
  2. Depending on the authorization method required by the entitlement, either select Unauthorized from the drop-down menu in the Authorize column, or enter the appropriate numeric value (for example, 0).
  3. Click Apply. The columns under the heading Licenses Across Devices will update appropriately. The Active Status field displays the current authorization state of the device.
  4. Reboot the affected device (if necessary). Certain devices require a reboot for the entitlement change to take effect. The Active Status column indicates if a reboot is required.
