The Northbound Sync operation provides the ability to update all traps for a specified time interval, from the SDM to four different host management systems. It is especially useful if communication with any one of the northbound management systems is disrupted. Available time intervals are:

  • All
  • 1 hour
  • 4 hours
  • 8 hours
  • 12 hours
  • 1 day
  • 1 week
  • 4 weeks

NOTE: The Synchronize operation is only applicable when Type is set to SNMP.
  1. Navigate to the SDM menu bar.
  2. Select Fault > Northbound Configuration, or from the SDM user interface (below), select Fault > Northbound Config/Sync. The Northbound Configuration/Sync page is displayed. The Sync/Operational Details pane (outlined in red) can be used to perform the Synchronization.
  3. Click on the row for the Northbound destination (1, 2, 3, or 4) to be synchronized.
  4. In the Sync/Operational Details pane, from the Sync Window drop-down menu, select the time interval for which to synchronize the selected Northbound destination.
  5. Click Synchronize. The sync operation is performed, and the fields in the Sync/Operational Details pane are updated.
