The Upstream Path properties overview screen contains the name that uniquely identifies an upstream path. When the upstream path is added to the system, the SDM assigns a default name. A user can modify this name.

The Upstream panel also includes the overall alarm status of the upstream path, as well as the Upstream Path ID configured on the NC 1500. The checkbox labeled Managed in the Upstream panel denotes whether or not the SDM will process events and alarms for this Upstream Path.

The System panel shows system components and devices related to the Upstream Path.

The main grouping of an upstream path is a collection of one or more demodulator channels, so this view identifies the set of channels along with some general settings and status parameters for each demodulator channel. For each channel, the SDM displays its configured frequency, operating mode, usage type and the overall alarm status of the channel:

  • The frequency is known to both the upstream device and NC.
  • The operating mode is defined by the upstream device.
  • The usage type is defined by the NC.

An ARPD configured to use the legacy protocol (for example, version 1) supports up to 3 virtual RPDs that are configured to the NC as RPD types. The SDM reconciles the NC configuration to the ARPD configuration and maps the NC's demodulator channel settings to the to appropriate ARPD demodulator channel.

The Statistics tab as shown below displays detailed statistics about the upstream path and each demodulator channel. The statistics for an upstream path are based on information maintained by the NC and each upstream device.

The Fault screen for an Upstream Path shows the current alarms for all devices associated with this Upstream Path. Double-clicking on an item will display the alarm details for the selected item.

The Performance screen for an Upstream Path shows the list of performance polls associated with an upstream path, the polling interval for each poll in minutes, and the enabled state of the poll as well as any thresholds defined by the poll.

The Configure Polls button will bring up the configuration screen for this Upstream Path's Poll Groups, allowing the operator to enable/disable the poll, set the polling interval, and configuring any defined thresholds. See Configure performance polls for more details on poll configuration.

The Poll Reports button brings up the reports screen for this Upstream Path, allowing the operator to display or export poll statistics data for this Upstream Path. See Performance poll reports overview for more information.
