For standard video processing, each pipe is associated with 1 MPTS along with program, PID, or pass thru mapping(s). For every MPTS created 1 pipe is assigned to process that MPTS.
For OOB (SCTE55-1 DS and US), OOBM, and LSM, there are specific pipes that support these services. For instance, all OOB pass thru streams and VARPD mappings are processed by 1 OOB pipe on a VUE server. All LSM mappings are processed by just 1 LSM pipe. Each OOBM transport stream is associated with 1 OOBM pipe.
The Pipes screen displays a list of all VUE pipes currently running in the VUE system or on a specific VUE server.
You can choose to view the pipes on a specific VUE server or choose to view all the pipes by choosing All Server from the drop-down list.

For each pipe the following information is displayed.
| Column name | Description |
|---|---|
| Pipe | Name of the pipe. |
| Server | Name of the server. |
| Mappings | Number of mappings and current counts in each state - Total, Enabled, Ok, and Error. |
| Insertion | PSI insertion rate in Kbps (amount of PATs and PMTs inserted for associated TS). |
| BW In Use | Approximate current output stream rate in Mbps for each pipe. Note that the BW displayed for each pipe is calculated based on packet counts reported every 5 seconds. Due to slight variations in reporting of packet counts and inherent rounding issues, the rates displayed will vary slightly over time even for constant bit rate flows. |
| Version | SW version of pipe. |
| Build Date | Build date of SW application for pipe. |
| Select Pipe(s) | Allows you select a specific pipe to restart the pipe. This will restart the pipe and associated TS and mappings. Loss of video will occur while pipe/TS/mappings are restarted. You can also click on Select All to select and restart all the pipes. |
| Click on Restart button to restart the pipes. |
