Storing the additional SNMP trap PDU for each trap-related event requires a significant amount of storage space in the SDM database; therefore, this feature can be disabled.

By default, the Extended Event data feature is enabled. To disable this feature:

  1. Open a terminal window on the SDM.
  2. Navigate to the directory /home/sdm/scripts/.
  3. Execute the runSDMConfigTester script. A menu of test options is displayed:
  4. Type 28 <ENTER> to select item 28, SDM Configuration. A submenu appears.
  5. Type 11 <ENTER> to select item 11, Extended Event Enable.
  6. Enter 0 to disable the feature. The SDM displays a confirmation message. The change takes effect immediately.
NOTE: The feature can be re-enabled using this same procedure, and entering 1 in Step 6 of the procedure. It is not necessary to restart the SDM service when re-enabling the feature.
