To troubleshoot Proactive alarms in Proactive Manager for a particular fiber node, you can start by viewing alarms in the Alarms view. You can then examine the issues that comprise the Proactive alarms and details that can lead to the sources of the problems. You can also look at those same alarms on the map. You have many options for troubleshooting proactive issues, so the tasks described in this chapter are intended as examples.
For example, you can turn on the inspection points for the most critical Proactive alarm listed in the table. These inspection points appear in the Topology views (Map view and Logical view) and highlight trouble areas. In the Alarms table, you can examine the issues causing the alarm and determine whether they extend across frequencies or affect only one specific frequency. You can look at the performance metrics for all affected modems to determine whether the problem is related to the line or a modem. In the topology, you can examine trouble areas highlighted by the inspection points, view areas that are in alarm, and see how the trouble spots comply with configured thresholds.
