In Outage Manager you can find Node Combining Network (NCN) Outage Alarms. NCN Alarms are alarms above the level of the fiber node. Refer to Related information for details.
A NCN Outage Alarm is designated by the icon in the Fiber Node column, in the Global alarms table and in Alarms view.
To troubleshoot a NCN Outage alarm
In Global view, find an alarm that shows an NCN Outage Alarm icon .
Click the arrow to expand the row and open the sub-table.
The Info tab indicates the most likely location of the problem in the HFC network.
For NCN Alarms, the tab lists 2 items that do not appear for Fiber Node alarms:
Organizational Path: Indicates the path from the top of the Hierarchy to the Hub.
Affected Component: Indicates the component that is the source of the problem. The picture above shows the problem at Hub2.
For additional information, click the Affected FNs tab in the sub-table.
The tab lists all the fiber nodes involved in the NCN Alarm.
Click a fiber node name to open Fiber Node view for the fiber node.
In Fiber Node view, the NCN Alarm is selected in the Alarms table, and the fiber node icon is selected in Map and Logical views.
Click the Info link at the end of the breadcrumbs to see the segment and service group associated with the Outage.
A box opens that contains contextual information about the fiber node.
