Use the Device Communication Status screen to obtain device-specific information, and to determine the current communication status of a device.
  1. Select Fault > Device Communication Status from the SDM menu bar. The Device Communication Status window displays.
  2. Enter the device name or the IP address of the device in the Device field.
  3. Click Poll. The fields in the window populate with information about the device.
  4. Click Close when you have finished viewing the window.

    The Device Communication Status window provides the following information:

    ParameterDescription

    IP Address

    The IP address of the device.

    MAC AddressThe MAC address of the device.
    Ping Status

    The result of ICMP ping requests to the device.

    Ping Packet Status

    Summary information on the ICMP ping requests.

    Ping Response Time

    Statistical information on the results of the ICMP ping requests.

    Application Status

    The result of SNMP requests to the device.

    App Response Time

    Statistical information on the results of the SNMP request operations.

    SysObjectID

    The SNMP system object identifier for the device.

    Type

    The type of the device.

    Model

    The model of the device.

    Firmware Version

    The version of the firmware currently running in the device.

    IP Address for reboot

    The IP address of the device to be rebooted.
