The ServAssure NXT Proactive Manager lets you view statistical data about specific frequencies for a service location. For example, if you are looking at a Proactive alarm in the Alarms table, you can click the arrow to open the Issues table, and then the Issues tab to view the underlying issues, listed by frequency. You can then use RF Statistics to show statistics for the affected frequencies. You can view one RF Parameter at the selected frequencies. The statistics appear in the Topology views.

This procedure illustrates how you can use RF statistics.

To view statistics for an RF Parameter by frequency:
  1. In Map or Logical view, click Additional Options > RF Stats.
NOTE: Map and Logical views have independent overlays. Overlay selections such as RF Stats that are made in one view will not be displayed in the other view.

The RF Statistics dialog box opens. You see one of these:

    • If nothing was previously selected in the RF Statistics dialog box, it opens with None selected and shows no data.
NOTE: If Spectrum Analysis is enabled and licensed on the server, Spectral Response is presented as a Downstream option.
    • If the dialog box contains a previous selection, the full dialog box opens with either Downstream, Upstream, OFDM, or OFDMA selected. It lists all frequencies and parameters on the fiber node.
NOTE: Channel CCER, Channel CER, and Channel CCER+CER statistics are now available through OFDM and OFDMA stats screens.
  2. Select Downstream, Upstream, OFDM, or OFDMA.
  3. Select the frequencies that you want to see or select all frequencies.

You must select at least one frequency.

  4. Select the specific parameter that you want to analyze.

You can select only one parameter. Refer to Issue types and RF parameters in Related information for information about parameters shown.

The dialog box closes, and statistics appear in callouts on the Topology. A label at the top indicates the RF Parameter and frequencies that you are viewing.

Alarm Central Map view showing service locations with the RF Stats overlay added.
  5. Select Hide to filter out the green labels and show only the service locations that are in alarm.

The Topology view shows issues for service locations, colored by severity level.

For each service location that has an issue, the label shows the average value, followed by the minimum and maximum across all selected frequencies and modems at the service location, written as: <average>Avg, <minimum> to <maximum>.

The statistics shown are:

  • Average, Minimum, Maximum:
    • The average across all selected frequencies and cable modems at the service location.
    • The minimum and maximum values across all frequencies and all cable modems at the service location.
  • The frequency at which the cable modem operates, if the service location contains only one cable modem and it operates at only one of the listed frequencies.
  • The number of cable modems at the service location, if it is greater than 1.

This picture shows that across the frequencies 22.8 MHz and 34 MHz, for the 6 cable modems at the service location, the average Tx Power is 50.27. The lowest value across the frequencies is 48.8, and the highest value is 53.4. These values indicate a Major alarm.
