Run the Virtual Spectrum Analyzer

To run spectrum analysis:
  1. Enable the spectrum analysis feature. See the ServAssure® NXT Administration Guide and Enable spectrum analysis in Related information for details regarding configuring permissions.

    Modem locations that may support spectrum analysis are shown with white markers. DOCSIS 3.0 modems do not support Upstream Spectrum Analysis.

    Spectrum analysis performance varies depending on a modem's firmware and chipset.

    NOTE: In Map and Logical View, locations with multiple modems will display a ring of markers.
  2. Touch a marker with a + icon. You can select multiple modems, but only two modems can be analyzed simultaneously.
    NOTE: Spectrum analysis of the selected modem is paused by default (white icon).
  3. Click Play. A real time graph is shown for that modem. The example below shows two active modems with average and peak hold enabled. If you hover over a data point, a pop-up field displays the frequency and amplitude as well as the modem MAC address.
  4. Extend the analysis time if needed. You can also click Remove to end the analysis.
