The Cable Modems table shows details about each modem.

Alarm central cable modems table with gear menu selected. Shows which columns are included in the table by default and which can be added.

You can add and remove columns from the table with the gear icon. You can sort, based on a column, by clicking on the column header.

The columns are as follows:

  • Row Number:

Table row number. This column is hidden by default.

  • MAC Address:
MAC address of the selected modem. The Open In option on this table links to Analyze Modem View, Analyze Network View, High Rate Polling, and Modem Sessions (if installed).
Cable modems table with MAC Address deep link pop up displayed, showing the ability to open Modem View, Network View, High Rate Polling, or Modem Sessions.
  • Operating DOCSIS Version:

The version of DOCSIS that a modem supports. For example, 3.1 or 3.0. This column is hidden by default.

  • Virtual Spectrum Analyzer Capability:

Identifies whether a cable modem is capable of displaying spectrum analyzer data. This column is hidden by default.

  • In-Home Issue Score:

In-Home Issue icon and score. An In-Home Issue is an issue that affects a single cable modem rather than the HFC plant. An orange icon indicates that an In-Home Issue is likely. The score is the calculated percentage likelihood. See Analyze in-home issues.

  • Status
Online or offline status of the modem. Status can be:
    Online
The modem is registered, enabled for data, and reachable.
    Offline
The modem is not reachable and contributes toward an Outage.
    SNMP Unreachable
The modem is detected by the CMTS but is not responding to SNMP poll requests. This may indicate that noise on the network is interrupting the poll. A modem with this status is treated as offline and counts toward an Outage. This is an optional state that is configurable in the NXT-ENG config file. If set to disabled, the modem will be treated as online.
    No Data
The modem was previously reachable but is no longer detected by the CMTS. This status may indicate that the modem has been offline for more than 24 hours. A modem with this status is considered offline and contributes toward an Outage. This is an optional state that is configurable in the NXT-ENG config file. If set to disabled, the modem will be treated as unknown.
    Unknown
The modem has never been reachable. A modem with this status does not contribute toward an Outage. If No Data is enabled, then it is reported if the modem has never been on. If No Data is disabled, then it is reported if the modem is not currently reported on the CMTS.
  • Registration Status:
The registration status of the modem that corresponds to one or more MIB values. Refer to Mapping of MIB regStatus value to modem status for MIB value and regStatus mapping information.
    Unknown
    Modem registration status is unknown.
    Online
The modem is registered, enabled for data, and reachable.
    Offline
The modem registration failed or is in an undefined state.
    Intermediate
The modem registration is in an undefined state; it has not completed nor failed. Refer to Mapping of MIB regStatus value to modem status for descriptions of possible Intermediate states.
This column is hidden by default.
  • CM Uptime:

The elapsed time since this modem rebooted. This column is hidden by default.

  • Last Reg Time :

The elapsed time since the status of this cable modem on the CMTS changed. This column is hidden by default.

  • Highest Threshold Crossing:

The highest overall alarm severity, which is measured by scanning across a cable modem, all KPIs, and all frequencies.

  • Customer Identifier:

ID of the customer at the service location associated with the MAC address. A value appears in this column if it is included in the customer data.

  • Customer Priority:

Priority of the customer. A higher value denotes a higher level of priority. This column is hidden by default.

  • Street Address:

Customer address information for a service location associated with the listed MAC address. A value appears in this column if it is included in the customer data. Street addresses are split by street number and street name so it can be sorted on street names rather than street numbers.

  • Postal Code:

Optional; customer mail-sorting/region code, such as ZIP code or postcode.

  • Latest Outage Scan:

Date and time of the latest Outage scan, relative to the time that you are viewing. Click the link to jump to the time of the scan. This change is reflected in the breadcrumbs. See Obtain data from different points in time. This column is hidden by default.

  • Active CMTS ID:
ID of the CMTS on which the cable modem is located. This column is hidden by default.
NOTE: See Find customer information for information about customer or subscriber data.
