A modem that operates using only a subset of available channels/profiles/IUC is said to be operating in "Partial Service".
Partial Service is a general term that includes scenarios where a modem is unable to use a downstream or upstream channel that it is configured to bond to (Partial Service), and scenarios where a modem is unable to use a configured downstream profile (Partial Channel). Partial Service as a specific concept is encountered on a modem in a specific channel. Partial Channel is encountered on a modem in a specific OFDM profile or OFDMA IUC.
You can raise a proactive alarm when a group of modems are operating in partial service, allowing for visibility into this behavior on a node level. Each issue contains the modems on a specific channel that are in partial service. See Issue types and RF parameters for details on proactive alarms.
You can view information about the reasons for a Partial Service state in the Alarm Central SC-QAM and OFDM/A tabs, as well as view them in the alarms view.
