The Alarms sub-table contains an Info tab, which contains the following information.

  • ID: An automatically generated identification number that is assigned to each alarm as it is raised.
  • Root Path: The path from the fiber node to the top most component associated with the alarm. Includes the IDs of the elements between the fiber node and the first component associated with the alarm.

This path does not appear for NCN alarms, which show the Organizational Path and Affected Component instead.

  • Inspection Point: The Import ID and component type for each Inspection Point, shown as Import ID [Component Type]. Click the link to see the inspection point in Map and Logical views.

Inspection points do not appear for NCN Alarms.

  • Alarm State: An alarm can be in any of these states. For more information, see Alarm states.
    • Detected: An alarm condition has been detected on the network.
    • Verified: The alarm condition has been verified as an alarm, following a configurable soak period.
    • Pending Cleared: Data indicates that the alarm condition no longer exists, which may or may not be confirmed following a configurable soak period.
    • Cleared: The alarm condition no longer exists. Current alarms cannot be in a Cleared state.
  • Verified Time: The date and time at which the alarm was Verified. Click the link to move to the time at which the alarm was verified. This change is reflected in the breadcrumbs. See Obtain data from different points in time.
  • Issues:
    • Proactive Alarms: The types of issues that make up the alarm and the number of each issue type. For example, an alarm might be made up of two issue types, Downstream Spectral Response and Upstream Power. This column also indicates the number of issues of each type that make up the alarm, such as 2 Upstream Power issues. Issue types are indicated by symbols. For more information about issue types, see Issue types and RF parameters.
    • Outage Alarms: No issues appear, because Outage alarms do not have issues.

The following appear for NCN Alarms only:

  • Organizational Path: Indicates the path from the top of the Hierarchy to the Hub.
  • Affected Component: Indicates the component that is the source of the problem.
