When you log in the System tab on the left-pane is used to define global settings for the VUE system.
- Login to Element Manager, https://<VPS #2_IP_address>:5557.
- Click System > System

Sub-Menu Description
Imports a stored configuration JSON file created with the Export operation.
Exports the configuration to a JSON format file.
Set individual log levels for all system event containers. Refer to Configure log levels.
Generates a license request file and/or import a license response. Refer to Licensing.
Saves all the configuration to a JSON file. Typically used during upgrading the software.
Saves all the configurations. - Update values as necessary:
Parameter Description System Name VUE system name. Default Annex A Symbol Rate This is the default symbol rate for any output MPTS configured in Annex A. The EM automatically calculates the output TS rate when Annex A is selected as the output TS type. The default symbol rate is used for all Annex A streams when initially selected. Note that this is an EM only setting and only is used to select the output TS rate. HTTP Request Timeout Range: 0-30 seconds
Indicates the timeout value for VUE Controller waiting on VUE Server response to HTTP request in seconds. For a value of 0, VUE Controller uses the system defined timeout. The default value is 5 seconds. Multicast PSI loss timeout Detection time in seconds for determining when the input PSI (PAT or PMT) is considered lost for multicast streams (broadcast/SDV). - Range: 0 - 21600 (seconds)
- Default: 5 seconds
- Special settings:
- 0 = Disable multicast PSI timeout
Unicast PSI loss timeout Detection time in seconds for determining when the input PSI (PAT or PMT) is considered lost for unicast streams (typically VOD).
- Range: 0 - 21600 (seconds)
- Default: 600
- Special settings: 0 = disable unicast PSI timeout.
- Notes: for VOD input streams, set to > 600.
Input CC Error Threshold Threshold setting for input continuity count alarm. This is the number of CC errors over a 5 second period before a CC error will be indicated. A setting of 0 disables the CC error checking. Output CC Error Threshold Threshold setting for output continuity count alarm. This is the number of CC errors over a 5 second period before a CC error will be indicated. A setting of 0 disables the CC error checking. Time To Live Time To Live (TTL) value of the IP packets sent from the Pipes for the transport streams. Range: 1 – 255
Multicast input loss timeout Maximum allowable time between packets for multicast streams before the stream is considered lost. - Range: 600 - 6000 (milliseconds)
- Default: 5000
- Notes: set in increments of 200 ms.
Unicast input loss timeout Maximum allowable time between packets for unicast input streams before the stream is considered lost. - Range: 600 – 6000 (milliseconds)
- Default: 5000
- Notes: set in increments of 200 ms.
TS Redundancy AutoFallback If enabled, VUE automatically switch back to the primary TS while receiving from the secondary transport stream fails. This behavior results in the automated switching to the alternate input anytime the currently active input is failed. If disabled, VUE does not switch back to the primary TS though the secondary TS is failed.
Input bit rate compare type Indicates whether to include null packets or exclude null packets when measuring the input bit rate of a TS.
You can select compare type as StreamRate or DataRate. Default value is StreamRate.
DAA VOD Reserved Port Mapped OTS Program The OTS reserved program number for VOD Mapping Operations. If set to a nonzero value, VUE will omit the program number from any VOD Mapping creations. A value of 0 has VUE use all program numbers.
MTU Size Defines the output MTU size of packets in bytes. An MTU of 1500 supports DEPI output packets with up to 7 MPEG packets per Ethernet frame. An MTU of 2000 supports DEPI output packets with up to 10 MPEG packets per Ethernet frame.
Default is 1500. This is the standard Ethernet frame size. To support a setting of 2000, all output interfaces in use must be configured to support an MTU setting of 2000. Do not change this setting without ensuring the corresponding output interfaces have been appropriately configured.
Clear Buffer Reset Counts This clears the internal pipe buffer reset counters to 0. DSCP Video Packets This is the output Ethernet DSCP setting for all video packets transmitted by the VUE system. Range is 0 – 63. Default is 38 (AF43). OOB/UEPI Packets This is the output Ethernet DSCP setting for all OOB packets transmitted by the VUE system. This is also used for all UEPI packets sent by the RxD and VARPD packets transmitted by the VUE. Range is 0 – 63. Default is 0 (CS0). GCP Communication This is the output Ethernet DSCP setting for all GCP communication between VUE and RxD. Range is 0 – 63. Default is 16 (CS2). HA Heartbeat Communication This is the output Ethernet DSCP setting for all HA heartbeat communication between the VUE servers. VUE system. Range is 0 – 63. Default is 48 (CS6). - Click Submit to save the values.
