Analyze Network View shows different types of modem counts based on the latest information collected and reported by the CMTS. These aggregated values change depending on the level of the selected Network View Hierarchy. The different modem counts are grouped under their respective labels in the ServAssure NXT UI. They are:
  • Modem Summary: Modem DOCSIS version count
  • Registration Status Summary: Modem registration count
  • MTA Summary: MTA count

Modem DOCSIS version count

The DOCSIS version of a modem is determined by the operating channels of the modem, not the modem base_capability or sysDescr. The version is determined as follows:
  • DOCSIS 2.0: Modems having no more than one each upstream or downstream SC-QAM channel.
  • DOCSIS 3.0: Modems found on more than one upstream or downstream SC-QAM channel.
  • DOCSIS 3.1: Modems found on any OFDM or OFDMA channel.
The value is from the latest successful poll of a CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period. This information is collected hourly and updated by Proactive polls.
NOTE: Modems on a CMTS are not included in the count if a CMTS reports no data for a modem, or the Proactive data is not scheduled or successfully collected on the CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period.

Modem registration count

Cable modem registration status (Online, Intermediate, and Offline) is derived from the MIB value for a modem's regStatus. Refer to Mapping of MIB regStatus value to modem status for MIB value and regStatus mapping information.

The value is from the latest successful poll of a CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period. This information is collected every 15 minutes and updated by Outage polls (modem regStatus polls).
NOTE: Modems on a CMTS are not included in the count if a CMTS reports no regStatus on a modem, or the Outage data is not scheduled or successfully collected on the CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period.

MTA count

MTA counts are displayed only when the voice service is enabled. An MTA count is counted when its provisioned state is operational, and the MTA enablement is true.

The value is from the latest successful poll of a CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period. This information is collected hourly and updated by MTA data collection.
NOTE: Modems on a CMTS are not included in the count if a CMTS reports no MTA data for a modem, or the MTA data is not scheduled or successfully collected on a CMTS in the preceding 24-hour period.
