  • Available: The set of all the data that is available in a particular view. In most cases, this is the content of an entire fiber node.fdg
  • Here is another list item.
  • Selection: Generally, a of the Available data.
  • Special Selection: A subset of the selected data, which may be visually distinct.
    • Graph view: Drag your cursor across (strum) a line or select a MAC address in the Frequencies tab, and it appears highlighted in purple in the graph and in the other views that show special selections.
    • Map and Logical views: Click a topology element and it turns purple. It also appears purple in the other views that show special selections.
    • Alarms view: Click an inspection point on the Info tab, and the location turns purple in the other views that show special selections.

For each view, this table explains what items are included in the available data, what can be selected, and which special selections are available. Some information can also be filtered, which is different from selection.

Additional information about topology views

In Map and Logical views:
  • When nothing is selected, the topology elements appear dark gray.
  • When an item is selected, all the elements that are not selected appear light gray.
  • Alarms that are not selected appear with muted colors.

For example, as shown below, suppose the Alarms table contains two minor Proactive alarms and the Proactive overlay is selected. If you select one of the minor Proactive alarms in the Alarms table, in the Topology views, the selected alarm appears bright yellow and the alarm that is not selected appears muted yellow.

  • If no overlay is turned on, when a Proactive issue is selected in the Alarms view, in the Topology views, the issue appears bright blue and the rest of the alarm appears muted blue.
