If the Clear Soak Period is enabled, an alarm moves to the Cleared state from the Pending Cleared State only. After the Clear Soak Period ends, if new data indicates that the alarm condition no longer exists or if no new data is received, the alarm moves to the Cleared State

If the Clear Soak Period is not enabled (set to 0), then the Pending Cleared state is bypassed. In this case, if the alarm is found to no longer exist, it moves to the Cleared state. An alarm can move to a Cleared state from any other state at any time. It can also move to the Cleared state during the Alarm Soak Period.

An alarm is cleared when any of the following occurs:

  • The alarm no longer exists.
  • The affected topology element is deleted from monitoring.
  • The alarm configuration was changed to disable the alarm.
