When disabling management of a device, the following areas are affected:
- Traps: The SDM discards all traps received from the device.
- Status polling: The SDM stops status polling for that device and no longer checks for the status of the device.
- Performance polling: The SDM stops polling all the performance-related parameters for that device and discards the events generated due to threshold validations.
- Status propagation: The SDM changes the alarm status of the device to Unknown. The color of the alarm status bar for the device changes to gray. New alarms will not be generated for the device, but existing alarms remain until manually cleared.
You can still enable or disable BOOTP requests for a device with Managed disabled, as well as retrieve or update a device's configuration and status parameters.
