Virtual Edge Device Servers (VEDS) handle video processing and QAM transport downstream to the Edge Resource Manager (ERM) with information the ERM requires for deliver to customer premise devices. This information includes capacity allocation, service group location, and tuning notifications to RPD/RMD set-tops.
