The Partial Channel column on the OFDM/A tab in Alarm Central and Analyze Modem View shows reasons why a modem might be unable to use a configured downstream profile.
Possible reasons include:
OFDM
- none
- No impairment exists.
- dsOfdmProfileFailure(16)
- The cable modem reports that the forward error correction (FEC) lock on one of the assigned downstream OFDM profiles of a channel has been lost.
- dpdMismatch(18)
- The cable modem detected a mismatch between the least significant bit of the downstream profile descriptor (DPD) change count and the next codeword pointer (NCP) odd/even bit.
- ncpProfileFailure(20)
- The cable modem reports that the FEC lock on the NCP has been lost.
- plcFailure(21)
- The cable modem reports that the FEC lock on the physical link channel (PLC) has failed.
- lostFecLock (300)
- The cable modem reports a downstream OFDM profile and channel failure, indicating excessive errors on a profile.
OFDMA
- plcFailure(21)
- The cable modem reports that the FEC lock on the physical link channel (PLC) has failed.
- ofdmaProfInvalid(400)
- The cable modem reported an invalid IUC code.
- lostFecLock (300)
- The cable modem reports an OFDMA profile and channel failure, indicating excessive errors in packets received from the cable modem.
- ofdmaLowMer(500)
- The cable modem's MER is too low to use this profile.
