- If no string is specified, this command
enables/disables the Message Integrity Check (MIC) check during cable modem
registration.
If a string is specified, this command sets the authorization string used during CMTS MIC calculations. This string must match the key used to create the MD5 digest in the cable modem initialization file. The cable authstring may be up to 64 bytes long.
To disable just the MIC check for the existing string, use the no option.
Parameters
- <WORD>
Shared secret between the CMTS and the CM configuration file generator or provisioning server. Maximum 64 characters (64 hexadecimal; ASCII character codes if hidden).
