To improve performance in Mozilla Firefox, use the following procedure to run in Safe Mode, disable extensions, and clear the browser cache.

To troubleshoot performance in Firefox
  1. Open Firefox in Safe Mode. Safe Mode automatically disables your extensions.

Depending on your operating system, do one of these:

    • Windows: Select Start > Run, and then type: firefox.exe -safe-mode
    • macOS: Open Terminal, and then type: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox -safe-mode
    • Linux: In Terminal type: /[path to firefox]/firefox -safe-mode
  2. If running in Safe Mode solves the performance issues, disable extensions one at a time to see whether one is the cause.
    1. From the menu at the upper right of the Firefox browser, select Add-ons.
    2. At the left of the screen, click Extensions.
    3. On the Extensions screen, disable extensions.
NOTE: Ad Block must be disabled or User and Admin Help will not display.
  3. If disabling extensions does not solve the issue, clear the browser cache.

Select Options > Privacy and Security > Cookies and Site Data.

  4. Click Clear Data, and select both options.
  5. Click Clear.
