Apply Grafana Patch for Video Channel Metrics display (Domain Manager 4.x and earlier)

This procedure is for configuring VTM to use the previous platform for Video Metrics display, called Grafana®. Due to licensing changes, Grafana was replaced by Plutono in Domain Manager 5.0 which is now considered the standard platform for metrics displays on Domain Manager. If you are using HLX Domain Manager 3.x/4,x, VTM requires the patch to be configured to use the Grafana platform.

  1. Create an ssh connection to the Domain Manager server using the labuser account.
  2. Type cd vtmPatches and press Enter.
  3. Type ./vtmUseGrafana.sh grafana and press Enter.

    Ignore all warning and extraneous output, these are normal and expected. The message VTM database collection vtmConfig successfully updated. is displayed upon successful completion of the script.

The VTM application restarts as part of the script. So, allow 2-3 minutes for the VTM application to become fully operational.

Important: If Domain Manager is upgraded to 5.0 or later in the future, then this patch script must be re-run with the plutono option to re-configure VTM to use the Plutono platform service: ./vtmUseGrafana.sh plutono.
