To identify a location to begin troubleshooting an outage, you can start by turning on inspection points. Use the Alarms table in Alarms view and either the Map view or Logical view.

To turn on inspection points
  1. In Alarms view, select Outage in the toolbar.
  2. In the Alarms table, select the alarm that you want to view.
  3. In the Map or Logical view, select Additional Options > Show Inspection Points.
    NOTE: Map and Logical views have independent overlays. Overlay selections made in one view will not be displayed in the other view.

    When turned on, inspection points appear in all overlays (Outage, Proactive, Highest Threshold, In-Home, Status) and no overlay (None). Numbered blue inspection points show where to look first to troubleshoot the problem.
