By default, after a new generic device has been configured by copying an existing generic device, the BootP file information (boot file location, vendor tag information, and so on) for the newly copied device is identical to the generic device from which it was copied. The user can optionally choose to leave the BootP settings alone and thus share the BootP file information between the two devices.

Alternatively, if the BootP file information being used for the newly copied device is different from the device from which it was copied, then follow the relevant procedural steps for adding and configuring a generic device for BootP operations. Refer to Configuring a Generic Device for BootP and Add a Generic Device for detailed information.
