File sets provide a way for the CAST server operator to communicate what firmware should be installed on the local SDM. Deleting a file set from the SDM does not remove anything from the CAST server; rather, it simply removes the associated firmware from the SDM database, and resynchronizes the SDM with the inventory of the CAST server.
NOTE: The SDM automatically retains any firmware releases that it needs to maintain communication with devices that are running those firmware releases, so there is no risk of deleting something that is in use.

Use this procedure to delete an installed file set.

  1. Select Configuration > Firmware Management > CAST Support on the SDM user interface. The CAST Support page displays.
  2. Click File Sets Installed; the CAST Support page updates to list the installed file sets.
  3. Select the list entry containing the file set you wish to delete.
  4. Click Delete. The list of installed file sets is updated after the delete operation completes.
