Alarm Notes is a log that shows changes
to the alarm over time, such as changes in state and severity. It contains linked
timestamps, alarm acknowledgment, and comments added by users.
From the Alarm Notes you can jump to the time at
which an event occurred, by clicking a link in the Timestamp column. See Obtain data from different points in time.
To open Alarm
Notes
From Global or Alarms view, in the
row for the alarm whose notes you want to view, click Select Action > Notes.
ServAssure NXT
automatically enters these events into the Alarm Notes:
Alarm is detected.
Alarm changes state.
Alarm changes severity.
Soak time increases or
decreases.
Soak period completes.
Frequency range for OFDM/A channel issues. Only the first note contains the
frequency range. When the alarm is first generated, all the frequencies
involved in the alarm are listed individually, but these eventually
disappear.
Channel name.
Alarm Notes contains the
following information:

Timestamp: Date
and time at which the event occurred.
Click a link to jump
to Alarms view at the time at which the event occurred. The new time is
reflected in the breadcrumbs above the table as well as the Timeline. See
Obtain data from different points in time.
NOTE: Timestamps reflect local time for the client.
Severity: The
severity of the event at the time that the event occurred.
State: The state
of the alarm at the time the event occurred.
Type: Type can
be:
Lifecycle:
Appears when an entry was made by the system or a comment was made by a
user, unrelated to acknowledgment.
Acknowledged: Appears in the Type column when a user has
acknowledged an alarm.
Unacknowledged: Appears in the Type column when a user
has removed acknowledgment from an alarm.
Comment:
Appears in the Type column when a user has added a comment to an
alarm.
Username:
Username can be:
System:
Entry was made automatically by the system.
<Username>: Username of the user who entered the
comment.
Description/Comment: Click the arrow at the left of the row to
see either:
Description of a system
entry, such as a change in state or completed soak
Comment entered by a
user
Number of modems impacted
for an alarm
Number of issues for a
category (for example, DS Power)
Inspection points
affected
Frequency range for
OFDM/A issues (only for the first note in the list)
