ACCP (Auxiliary Core Control Plane) is one of the module in Distributed Access Architecture network which facilitates Video services. It is used to provision RPD (Remote PHY Device)/ Remote MACPHY Devices (RMDs).

This section assumes you are logged in to the EM.

View ACCP details

Click the ACCP on the left navigation pane to view the status of desired ACCP status. This displays all the available ACCP cores in the VUE system.

ParameterDescription
Management IP

The management IP address of this ACCP instance. This specified address and the GCP IP address must be located on the same VUE server. When no Management IP address is specified, the VUE defaults this attribute to the IP address of the management interface; moreover, if a virtual IP address is assigned to the management interface, the first virtual IP address defined for this management interface is used. The management interface must be an IPV4 address.

ACCP Core Name

The GCP auxiliary core name used by the VUE ACCP when an RPD/RMD registers with the VUE ACCP. The string can be a maximum length of 64 characters.

Aux Core ID

The GCP auxiliary core ID is a unique ID used by the VUE ACCP when an RPD/RMD registers with the ACCP. This is a 6-byte hexadecimal string, maximum length of 12 characters.

The Auxiliary core ID must not be changed when RPDs/RMDs exist on the system with the current Aux Core ID value. These RPDs/RMDs must be removed from the system prior to changing the Aux Core ID value.

GCP IP Address 1

The IP address that the ACCP will use to communicate with the RPDs/RMDs over the CIN for all GCP traffic. The string value can be an IPv4 address in dotted decimal format or an IPv6 address as 8 groups of four hexadecimal digits separated by colons (IPV6 addresses may be collapsed). The string can be a maximum length of 45 characters.

If server is part of a redundancy cluster, this must be a VIP.

The GCP IP address determines where the ACCP core will run on the VUE system; either on VPS #2 or on a VUE application server. VUE supports multiple ACCPs per VUE system, but only 1 per VUE application server and 1 per VPS #2. Therefore, only 1 GCP IP address can be assigned to VPS #2 and only 1 can be assigned to an individual VUE application server.

GCP IP Address 2

Optional secondary GPC IP address for communicating with RPDs/RMDs. Must be on same server as GCP IP Address 1.

State

State of the ACCP core.

  • up – ACCP core is up and is running properly.
  • down – ACCP core is down. Most likely the GCP IP address is configured incorrectly.
  • syncing – ACCP core and ACCP manager are in process of syncing config/status.
  • unknown – ACCP core is not responding to ACCP manager. Communication error between ACCP manager and ACCP core on server.
RPD/RMD Count

Number of RPDs/RMDs associated with the specific ACCP core.

RPD/RMD Error

Count of RPD/RMD errors for the ACCP.

Click the More options button on the far right of the corresponding ACCP to view, or modify, or deactivate the ACCP. For more information, see View, edit, or delete ACCP and its RPDs/RMDs.

View RPD/RMD and its associated channel details

  1. Click ACCP on the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the number under RPD/RMD Count column of the desired ACCP core row. This displays the RPD List window.

The RPD List window lists all the RPDs/RMDs associated with the ACCP core. It also indicates the number of channels on a specific RPD/RMD, the state of the RPD/RMD.

    ParameterDescription
    RPD/RMDMAC address of RPD/RMD.
ChannelsNumber of channels for this RPD/RMD.
Channel ErrorsNumber of channels in error.
    StateCurrent state of the RPD.
    • Initial – The ACCP is waiting for the RPD to contact it.
    • Connected– The RPD has established a connection to the ACCP (aux core) and has sent a “StartUpNofiy” message.
    • InitialConfiguration – The ACCP is currently exchanging REX messages with the RPD to set up initial configuration including pre-established RF channels.
    • Operational – The RPD is in its normal operational state and has received back a successful response to its “MoveToOperational” request.
    • Deleting – The ACCP is in the process of deleting this RPD and its RF channels.
  3. Click on the desired RPD/RMD. This displays RPD Channels window. It contains all the information regarding the channels associated on the specific RPD/RMD.

At the top of the RPD/RMD Channels screen is the MAC address, Serial #, and IP of the RPD/RMD. Listed below that is the current RPD/RMD state (Operational or Initial), up time, and last startup notify time (time the last startup/notify was received from the RPD/RMD).

    ParameterDescription
    Channel

The name and UUID of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Multicast

The multicast IP address of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Source

The source IP address of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Session ID

The session ID (in hex) of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Type

The type of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Frequency

The frequency (MHz) of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    Expected Info Rate

Channel information rate in Mbps as configured by the VUE for each transport stream. For the DS and US SCTE55-1 channels this rate reflects the maximum bit rate expected for these channels. For DS SC-QAM channels this is the configured rate configured for the corresponding channel/transport stream.

    State

The current state of the configured RPD/RMD channel.

    • Initial – The ACCP is waiting for the RPD to contact it in order to provision this RF channel.
    • ConfigurationInProgress – The ACCP is in the process of adding this channel to the RPD via a REX REQ.
    • ConfigurationError – The ACCP has received an error REX RSP message from the RPD for this channel.
    • Operational – The RF channel is in service and operational.
    • Deleting – The ACCP is in the process of deleting this RF channel.
    Channel Statistics icon

Displays statistics of a channel. Click Close to close the window.

    RPD Status button
