The transport streams configuration is advertised for Switched Digital Video systems and sent to Remote PHY Devices for QAM upconversion.

You can configure RPC for each server separately.

NOTE: The Global defaults are only used when a new server is added. All of the global parameters are individually configured for each server and are populated with the global default values. Changing the global default values has no impact to an existing RPC configuration. When a new server is added are they used to populate the new server parameters.
  1. Login to Element Manager, https://<VPS#2_IP_address>:5557.
  2. Click SDV on the left navigation pane.
  3. Click Config button under the Virtual Edge Device Server (VEDS) section to view the available VEDS.
  4. Click on the VEDS server that you want to operate in RPC mode, under the Virtual Edge Device Server (VEDS) section. It displays all the relevant information of that VEDS server.
    ParameterDescription
Control Plane IPSelect the network interface used for communication to the ERM. This typically would be the control/management interface of the VUE server.
Data Plane IPThis is the input interface from which VUE receives SDV streams for all mappings. Select the interface that receives the input SDV streams.
Last StatusDate and time of the latest status update of the system.
Build VersionBuild version currently running within this VEDS server.
Build DateBuild date of the version running within the VEDS server.

If you want the VEDS server to operate with RPC:

    1. Check the SDV Operating Mode value. If it indicates None or RTSP, click More option button on the extreme right of the desired VEDS and click Config/Modify.
    2. This opens a new window of the VEDS server. Change SDV Operating Mode to RPC and enter the relevant values:
      ParameterDescription
Control Plane IPIP Address of this VEDS server control plane interface within the VUE system.
      Device Name

Enter a name for edge device represented by the VEDS instance discovered by the ERM.

      The name is a case-sensitive string of up to 64 characters. Valid characters are: a-z, A-Z, 0-9, @, +, #, _ (underscore), and - (hyphen).

Input Data Plane InterfaceIP address of the data plane interface for this VEDS server within the VUE system.
Input Port NumberPort number used for the interface VUE system.
Input Bandwidth UsagePercentage on the bandwidth used in the transport stream.
Interface Group NameSpecifies the group name of the interfaces.

To modify or add additional interface, see View, add, edit, or delete RTSP/RPC using VEDS.
