- Login to Element Manager, https://<VPS#2_IP_address>:5557.
- Click Transport Stream on the left navigation pane.
- Choose the specific server on which you want create the transport stream from the drop-down list.
- Click
to create a transport stream. - Enter the stream values as necessary in the Add
Transport Stream dialog that opens:
Parameter Description Transport Stream Type Choose RTSP DEPI from the drop-down list. Name (Optional)
Enter a unique descriptive name. The name is a case-sensitive string of up to 32 characters. Valid characters are:
a-z, A-Z, 0-9, @, +, #, _ (underscore), and - (hyphen).
Destination IP Enter multicast IP address of the RPD or RMD that will receive this MPTS. Typically set to an IPv6 multicast IP when transmitting to an RPD or RMD. Destination UDP Default value is 1. This field is not non-editable. Output Interface Select the output interface IP from the drop down menu. This defines the output IP along with the VUE server to send the output stream.
If VUE server is part of a redundancy cluster this must be a VIP.
NOTE:If you have selected a specific VUE server from the drop-down list, then only the output interface IP of that server will be available.
The type of IP selected (IPv4 or IPv6) must be the same as the type of destination IP entered. For example, if an IPv6 multicast destination IP was entered, the selected interface IP must be an IPv6 address. If destination IP is an IPv4 address, then the selected interface IP must be an IPv4 address.
PAT TSID (Range: 0 – 65535)
Enter a valid Transport Stream ID. TS Info Rate (Mbps) Default is Annex B rate of 38.8107Mbps. The default setting should be used unless you desire to output a stream to an Annex A or C downstream device. Use Annex/Symbol Rate Enable this setting to specify the Annex mode (A, B, or C), modulation mode (QAM64 or QAM256) and the symbol rate of the output stream. VUE uses these 3 parameters to determine a more precise output rate to match the RxD. Annex Mode (Range – A, B, or C)
Set Annex mode based on desired output rate. Only used when symbol rate is non-zero. Default is Annex B (38.8107 Mbps). When set to Annex A or C, you can use the calculator on the EM to easily select an output TS rate. Modulation The modulation mode used on the QAM interface. Supported values are QAM256 or QAM64. SymbolRate (Msps) (Range 0, 0.8 – 6.952 Msps)
The symbol rate (Msps) to be used for the MPEG video. The default is 0. When symbolRate is non-zero, the fixed information rate of the output transportStream is calculated based on the modulation (default QAM256), symbolRate and annex (default B) attributes instead of the tsInfoRate attribute. NULL PID BW (bps) (Range: 0 - 1,000,000 bps)
(Optional)
This is an amount of NULL BW to reserve on a TS. This ensures that the TS output will include an amount of NULL BW. Setting this incorrectly can result in dropped PSI and data/video packets. NOTE: Necessary only when the VUE is connected to a downstream RMD.Mute Output TS Unchecked or disabled by default. Check this box to prevent the output stream from being transmitted to the RPD/RMD. The mute function mimics an EQAM channel mute capability. PID Remapping Default is set to enable PID Remapping. This will ensure the output PIDs are unique for each program created. Recommended to leave this setting enabled. Reuse Input PAT TSID If enabled, follows the input TSID value for an auto-mapped input transport stream when creating an Output TS.
If disabled, configured value of the PAT TSID will be inserted in the Output TS.
NOTE: There will be a momentary loss of video when the TS info rate, annex mode, symbol rate, or modulation mode is modified. You should only modify parameters that impact output TS rate during a maintenance window. - Click Next to move to the RTSP DEPI
configuration steps.Enter the remaining RTSP DEPI parameters and complete the configuration:
Parameter Description LSM Select to enable linear source management. Session ID (Range: 0 - 0xFFFFFFFF)
This is the unique hexadecimal ID for this output stream. Use an appropriate Session ID value from the network Session Manager. Group Name This must match what is entered on the ERM (128 character string name). Frequency (MHz) The frequency to transmit the output transport stream out on the physical plant network. - Click Submit to create the RTSP DEPI transport stream or Cancel to discard the action.
