Alarms are based on events and alert the user to problems in the network or within the SDM. There are five alarm levels: critical, major, minor, warning, and clear.

In the View List panel, click Alarms to display a list of alarms in the Active Window. The last alarm view selected (for example, Show All) is displayed:

Displays in the Active Window are not static; for example, right clicking and selecting Open(or double-clicking) an alarm line item displays specific details of the alarm condition. Also, right-clicking an alarm line item and selecting Device Properties displays the configuration and status information for the alarmed device.

Owner

If the alarm has been acknowledged, this field displays the owner. If an alarm is not acknowledged or was unacknowledged, this field is blank.

Severity

Alarm

The alarm type.

Time Stamp

The time that the alarm was last modified. The format is configurable.

Category

Category-based International Telecommunication Union alarm types.

Name

The name of the device having the alarm.

IP

Address

The device's IP address.

Type

The device type.

Failure Object

An event identified as an alarm condition.
