How to upgrade
This section describes how to upgrade the ServAssure Collection Platform from a previous version.
The commands for running installation
scripts with Ansible are intended to document the Ansible playbook to be run for
each installation step. They may vary slightly in terms of the arguments and flags
passed to the ansible-playbook program depending on how Ansible is configured in the
target environment.
NOTE: The
procedure covered in this section does not install or configure the Metrics
Platform. You will need to follow the steps outlined in ServAssure NXT Metrics
Platform installation chapter in ServAssure® NXT Metrics
Platform Installation
Guide.
We recommend upgrading to 2.14 software in the following
order:
- Fully upgrade all Metrics Platform components, including the Metrics Server, alerts, logging platform, and InfluxDB as applicable.
- Upgrade ServAssure Collection Platform and ServAssure NXT.
Important: Before running this upgrade, if you will add any ServAssure L2TP Receiver nodes you must first add
the ServAssure L2TP Receiver node host details to the
host_inventory file and install the Docker container package for
ServAssure L2TP Receiver.
- Add ServAssure L2TP Receiver nodes to the host_inventory file using the definition requirements for [docsis_l2tp_receiver] in host_inventory file definitions.
- Install Docker using the instructions in Install Docker.
