The Alarms window provides a consolidated state of all alarms within the VUE system. It lists a count of each alarm across the entire VUE system based on the category. Each alarm is displayed with its current state and the number of alarms currently reported. Each alarm type is listed in the order of its highest severity first along with a count of the number of alarms of that type alarm.
The bell icon
on the top pane, indicates the total number of alarms in the VUE system. If you
expand the drop-down, it provides information of how many alarms per server.

For example, if vue_server-004 and vue_server-002 have the same type of alarm, then bell icon indicates 1 as the overall VUE system alarm.
You can choose to view the alarms/errors in all the VUE servers or choose to view the alarms/errors in a specific VUE server from the drop down. If there are alarms on ACCP on VPS #2 then the alarm screen will allow you to select VPS #2 to see those alarms. The VPS #2 selection is only available when ACCP is configured on VPS #2.

The alarm statuses are indicated with OK, Warning, Minor, Major, and Critical statuses along with number of alarms. When you click on alarm status button, a dialog appears with more details on the error/alarm such as the server, number of alarms, severity, and event.
Input alarms
| Alarm/Error | Description |
|---|---|
| Loss of input (Major) | Input stream lost based on user loss of input settings (600-6000ms). Amount of time over which no packet is received for 1 or more input streams. |
| Input Stream High bit rate (Major) | SDV mappings only when a mapping exceeds defined bit rate. |
| Input CC Failure (Major) | Input stream contains CC errors exceeding user configured rate (number of CC input errors over a 5 second period). |
| Loss of Physical Interface (Critical, Major) | Set when loss of link detected on any interface with an IP assigned (VIP or static IP). |
| Input Ts Failover (Major) | Set if the primary input TS has failed over to the secondary. |
Output alarms
| Alarms/Error | |
|---|---|
| Program In Error (Major) | Set when any program is in error (based on PSI extraction/parsing). |
| Output Overflow (Major) | Set when any output stream overflows (based on dropped packet counts). |
| PID Route Failure (Major) | Set when PID routing fails (loss of input PID stream). |
| Output CC Failure (Major) | Set when output TS detects CC errors over a 5 second period exceed over configured threshold. |
| Output Send Failure (Major) | Set when any output TS fails to send a packet. |
OOBM Alarms
| Alarm/Error | Description |
|---|---|
| EAS Active (Major) | Set when EAS detected to be active for an OOBM stream. |
| Control Link Alarm (Major) | Set when OOBM detects loss of control link (loss of connection to DAC). |
| PID Mcc Failure (Major) | Detected CC error above threshold for an OOBM stream. |
HA alarms
| Alarms/Error | Description |
|---|---|
| Loss of Heartbeat (Warning) | Set when one or both HA servers stops receiving HBs from the other server. |
| Loss of Heartbeat Interface (Major) | Set when loss of link occurs on an interface used for sending/receiving HBs. |
| Ingress Rate Comparison (Major) | Set when ingress rate on Active server falls below the threshold rate compared to the Standby server. |
| Ingress Below Threshold Alarm (Major) | Set when ingress rate is below configurable threshold rate. |
| Role Transition Fault (Critical) | Set when one server changes its role (active/standby transition). |
| Application Failure (Major) | Set when VAMS on VUE application server detects an application failure. |
| HA Not Available (Major) | Set when a configured Redundancy Cluster cannot perform HA (typically indicates 1 server is down or communication between the servers is down). |
Server Alarms
| Alarms/Error | Description |
|---|---|
| Missing Time Source (Major) | Set if PTP or NTP is not locked on a server |
| Server Communication Error (Warning) | Set when a VUE application server loses communication with VPS #2 (VUE Manager). This could indicate that the server is down/crashed or just a loss of Ethernet connectivity to the server. |
| Buffer reset count (Major) | Indicates when an internal MPEG processing buffer is reset (due to either underrun or overflow). Count of buffer resets for each server, and across the entire VUE system is displayed on the Alarms screen. |
DAA Alarms
| Alarm/Error | Description |
|---|---|
| Pending RPD Initialization | Set when 1 or more RPDs is waiting to be initialized. |
| Channel Configuration Error | Set when 1 or more RPDs have at least 1 channel not properly configured. |
| Dropped Egress Packets alarm | Set when the number of MPEG packets output during the polling period is less than a configured threshold as compared to the number of inbound DS DEPI packets received during the polling period. This alarm can be enabled/disabled. |
| Dropped Ingress Packets alarm | Set when the number of received DS DEPI packets received during a polling period is less than a configured threshold as compared to the number of DS DEPI packets transmitted by VUE during a polling period. This alarm can be enabled/disabled. |
| Out of Sequence Packets alarm | Set when the number of DS DEPI packets arriving out of sequence (OOS) exceeds a configured threshold. This alarm can be enabled/disabled. |
