For VUE to modify Digital Terminal Adaptor (DTA) channel map messages carried within the NET PID, you must define a Linear Source Management (LSM) transport stream for each narrowcast service group (NSG) and enable LSM on all RTSP MPTS for all narrowcast service group.

The LSM transport stream is responsible for receiving the NET PID for a narrowcast service group and fixing the output channel map(s) and CVT (Code Version Table), as necessary. The LSM transport stream forwards the output NET PID to the RTSP transport stream located on multiple VUE servers who are members of the same NSG and are configured to perform LSM (LSM enabled).

Only an Ancillary PID mapping of type NET can be assigned to an LSM transport stream. The forwarding of the output NET PID uses Multicast and it is necessary for the receiving pipes to join that multicast group to receive the modified NET PID. On each of the RTSP transport streams that belong to the NSG, you must create the Ancillary PID mapping of type NET that needs to receive the LSM transport stream.

LSM licensing

Using the VUE LSM license feature, you can create an RTSP OTS that can receive the LSM NET PID mapping that fixes the NET PID for the NSG configured for that RTSP OTS.

Using the VUE LSM – RDEPI license feature allows you to enable DEPI support for the created LSM enabled RTSP OTS.

NOTE: If you require to use parameters of a feature beyond the maximum limit, request for license file. For more information, see Licensing.
