NOTE:Insight Reporting requires installation of Tableau. Tableau user configuration occurs at Tableau installation and cannot be changed after installation. If you must change user configuration from "local" to either "Active Directory" or "LDAP" then you must reinstall Tableau.

Local user considerations

The TenantConfig field Insight Reporting LDAP configures how ServAssure NXT communicates with Tableau. It does not configure the method by which users log in to ServAssure NXT.

When configuring a ServAssure NXT tenant for Insight Reporting, if the field Insight Reporting LDAP is set to "disabled" then it is assumed Tableau is configured with local users, which must be mapped to ServAssure NXT users through the ServAssure NXTReportUserMapping APIs.
NOTE:ServAssure NXT users in this scenario can be configured using either local or LDAP protocols as long as users are mapped to Tableau using the ReportUserMapping APIs.
Disabled Insight Reporting LDAP
Update TenantConfig window is shown with Insight selected. Insight Reporting LDAP field is shown with a value of "disabled".

Refer to ServAssure® NXT API Guide for details.

LDAP or AD user considerations

When configuring a ServAssure NXT tenant for Insight Reporting, if the field Insight Reporting LDAP is set to "enabled" then it is assumed Tableau is configured with LDAP or Active Directory (AD) users, which match the protocols used to configure users in ServAssure NXT. Login credentials used for ServAssure NXT will also be used to log in to Tableau. This is the easiest way to manage a large number of Insight Reporting users.
NOTE:ServAssure NXT users in this scenario do not need to be mapped to Tableau. The ReportUserMapping APIs are not used.
