Interactive Path Polls (Upstream or downstream Paths)

- As applicable, reduce the number of entries in the Select Paths list by selecting filters for Interactive Controller or Interactive Devices.
The Select Paths list is repopulated after each change to the filters.
- Select one or more paths (the CTRL key or click-and-drag allows for multi-selection).
The Select Poll Groups list is repopulated after each change to the selection in the Select Paths list. The list of available Poll Groups for all selected paths is displayed. The first poll group in the list is selected by default.
- Select one or more poll groups.
- Click Show Config to display the editable configuration data as shown below:

- As applicable, modify the Poll Time Interval, Enable/Disable, and Thresholds for each Poll Group. Only fields that have been modified will be applied to the selected devices/paths.
- Any field that is changed will be shaded green to show which fields will be applied to the device's/path's configuration.
- If the poll group contains any thresholds, they are displayed in the configuration area below the poll description.
- Placing the mouse cursor over any Threshold Name brings up a tooltip-style pop-up containing the description of that Threshold.
- The Severity of the Threshold Event is displayed after the Threshold Name/Units, and is color-coded to match the SDM Severity color coding standards. See Fault Management - Network Events for more information on Event Severity color codes.
- The Threshold value/re-arm value operation is displayed adjacent to each value. This specifies when an alarm will be generated, and under which conditions the alarm will be rearmed and ready to be fired again. This can keep the system from generating multiple alarms from a minor value fluctuation around the threshold value setting.
- After the changes are made and Apply is clicked, the system saves the requested changes and a pop-up dialog is displayed with the results of the save operation. If an error is encountered during the save operation, the error appears in a pop-up dialog.
- After the save operation is complete, the system refreshes the displayed values with the current configuration. In the multiple device configuration instance, this means that the displayed values will revert to No Change. To further verify that the changes were successful, select a single device and poll group, and click Show Config.
- The following validation occurs on the attempted changes to the poll group's configuration values:
- The value must be consistent with displayed operation (for example: >, <, >=, or <=) in relation to the re-arm value (if the value's operation is >, any change to the value or rearm value must maintain a value > rearm value relationship). If the changes to either the value or re-arm value result in a violation of this rule, the change will not be saved, and an error is displayed to the user.
- The value and rearm values must be within range, if a range is specified in the poll group's configuration. If the value/rearm value is changed to an out-of-range value, an error is displayed.
- If the Threshold unit is a percentage (%), the value and re-arm value must be in the range of 0 to 100. If the value/rearm value of a percentage is changed to a value greater than 100 or less than 0, an error is displayed.
- Displaying of the editable configuration data is split into the configuration of a single device/path and the configuration of multiple devices/paths.
