All servers or virtual machines require x86_64 Linux-based operating system.
Important:CommScope strongly recommends that
the disk allocated for the operating system should be mounted at root (/) and
should not be further partitioned. If further partitioning is required, contact
your CommScope Customer Support
Representative to verify the partition map prior to implementation.
WARNING: After upgrading or
migrating to a new Linux version, server configurations may be lost or altered, which could
affect Cassandra performance. Refer to Cassandra post-migration, upgrade advisory: Linux version upgrade checklist and complete the
verification tasks in that section after a Linux upgrade or migration.

NOTE:
- All third-party OS required packages are installed during the initial node configuration using Ansible.
- Access to OS update/software repositories is required on all nodes, as many third-party packages are also required by other package installations.
- If direct access to OS update/software repositories is not allowed, then a local repository must be created, or a proxy must be set up to allow access to packages and updates from an authorized repository.
